This
TI-30X IIS was manufactured by Kinpo Electronics,
Inc. for the retailer Target. It was released for the
Back-to-School
2007 campaign together
with a pink TI-503SV, a
blue TI-83 Plus and the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition in both pink and blue.
Disassembling
this model of the TI-30X IIS manufactured April 2007 reveals a well known internal
construction. We discovered already in 2004 with Inventec
Shanghai, Kinpo Electronics,
Inc. and Nam
Tai Electronics, Inc. three different contract manufacturers for the TI-30X
IIS. Comparing two calculators with date codes K-0304 and K-0407 shows no
significant differences.
Please remember the purple TI-30X IIS introduced already in 2003 by Target's biggest competitor in the U.S., retailer Wal-Mart.
Target introduced for the Back-to-School 2008 campaign a maroon TI-30X IIS and a pink TI-84 Plus Silver Edition.
