US competitor Wal-Mart started already in 2003 with the idea of colorful variations Texas Instruments calculators, please remember the red TI-503SV.

Screening the Target shelves in 2007 revealed a pink TI-30X IIS, a blue TI-83 Plus and the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition in both pink and blue.
