In 1999 the TI-30 line of calculators received a great feature - a 2-line display. The upper entry line displays up to 11 characters and can be scrolled left and right up to 88 characters. The lower result line displays 10 digits of mantissa and 2 digits for the exponent. Compared with the traditional TI-40 Collège and TI-40 Solar the upper line permits to recall the last entry and to correct instantly.
The TI-40 College II was sold in Belgium, France and Italy and supports the "French fractions".
The family covers 5 different calculators, compare them with the following table:

Read more about the Logarithm Bug and its side effect on the related yx function present in this calculator. The affected calculators manufactured by Nam Tai Electronics, Inc. and Compal Electronics in December 1999 or before were replaced in an offer running through January 31, 2001.
In 2004 Texas Instruments introduced a new design line with a really prominent name plate and some modern applications like an aluminium bezel around the display. Don't miss the new TI-40 Collège II.
Please remember the Canon Palmtronic
MD-8 sporting a two-line display already in 1979.
