This TI-30X IIS was manufactured by Nam Tai Electronics, Inc. for the European market, it is really obscure but the US version of the TI-30X IIS is slightly different.
Recently we discovered the latest model of the TI-30X IIS in a wonderful purple case manufactured by Kinpo Electronics, Inc. - get some pictures here.

The TI-30X IIS sold in the North-/South-American market comes in a yellow sales box and states a warranty of 1 year. | |
The same calculator sold in Europe comes in a red sales box and is covered by a three year warranty. | |
Both calculators were manufactured February 2004 in China. The European model (left) reveals with the leading "N" well known Nam Tai Electronics, Inc. as contract manufacturer. The US model right gives with the leading "S" Inventec Shanghai as assembly plant. | |
The TI-30X IIS manufactured by Inventec Shanghai makes use of assembly technology developed about 1995. | |
The TI-30X IIS manufactured by Nam Tai uses a totally different construction compared to the US-model. |
