The
Datamath
Calculator
Museum received this
PLT IRDA Infrared Communication Card together with some unique graphing
calculators as a loan from Texas Instruments in February 2008 to photograph and
document it.
The Dallas,
TX based team nicknamed it PET
Project including three advanced graphing
calculators:
•
PLT
SHH1: Spot Hand Held,
first generation PET device with smaller, portrait oriented screen. • |
This PLT IRDA
Wireless Infrared Communication Card was developed for the PLT SU1 to establish
a wireless connection to the outside world according to the Infrared Data
Association (IrDA) standard. IrDA was popular on laptops during the late 90s and
early 2000s but was replaced by other wireless technologies such as WiFi (IEEE
802.11b) and Bluetooth.
Don’t miss
the related PLT WC Wireless Card.
