The TI-502 was one of the very cheap calculators sold by Texas Instruments. A small, slanted housing, rubber keys and a battery enhanced by a colorful type designation. That's it!
Between 1986 and 1987 four different colorings appeared:
•
TI-502 red • TI-502 blue • TI-502 yellow • TI-502 black |
Dismantling this TI-502 calculator manufactured in August 1985 by Compal Electronics in Thailand reveals a clean design centered around a Sharp LI3135 single-chip calculator circuit.
Production of the TI-502 was shifted 1991 to Thailand.
