Texas Instruments Galaxy 40sx
With the Galaxy 40x Texas Instruments introduced an enhanced scientific calculator performing fractional arithmetic. You may use two different modes:
• Euklid's division: 56 / 5 = 11 (Q) 1 (R) With the SIMP and F-D-key you can shorten results and convert between fractional and decimal display:

With the Galaxy 40sx Texas Instruments sold a similar calculator using solar cells. A more traditional housing was used with the similar TI-32 Explorer Plus and the European TI-40 Solar. If you are interested in the calculating accuracy of scientific calculators don't miss the Calculator forensics.
Stokes Publishing Company, Inc. based in Sunnyvale, California sold a companion for the teacher, view the wonderful GALACTIC 40SX.
A less sophisticated calculator using the fractional arithmetic was introduced 1991 with the Galaxy 9.
