The European TI-40 Solar is identical to the TI-32 Explorer Plus sold in US. This could be easily proven if you open the calculator. The printed circuit board states: TI-32.
The calculator is very similar to the Galaxy 40x but uses the housing of the Math Explorer.
There is no relation ship to the previous TI-40.
Later the same keyboard layout was used with a more stylish housing. Compare it here.
