If you read the technical comments on the TI-55 III you know the reason why Texas Instruments introduced 1985 the TI-57 II.
From the technical point of view the calculators are similar, both use identical displays and integrated circuits. The main difference is the quality of the keyboard and the internal construction.
Instead a flexible Printed Circuit Board (PCB) used in the predecessor TI-57
LCD this calculator sports a rigid PCB construction.
In 1985 Texas Instruments shifted production of the TI-57 II from Taiwan to
Italy. Two things happened:
• The rigid PCB was changed to a flexible PCB. |
Don't miss the TI-57 II manufactured in Italy.
Between
1985 and 1986 Texas Instruments created an amazing number of different designs
in the "Second Generation - Slanted LCD" calculator series just by
moving production to Original Equipment
Manufacturers (OEMs) in Far East, moving manufacturing
back to their own facilities and revising the design. Please click on the

Generation Slanted LCD calculators.
