The
Canon Palmtronic 8, also known as LD-83, follows the LD-81
and is one of the successors of the
LE-series. Compared to the original LE-series using a red LED-Display (Light Emitting Diodes) the later LD-series sports the green
VF-Display
(Vacuum Fluorescent) and the LC-series either yellow of grey LC-Displays (Liquid-Crystal).
The housing of the LD-83 looks very similar to the LD-81 but
the keyboard is somewhat smaller. The identical looking LD-84
changed only the internal electronics and is otherwise identical.
Don't miss the LE-84 and LC-8M
for a direct comparison.
The similar Palmtronic 8M added the memory, view the LD-8M 3, the LD-8s used a much smaller housing.
