Texas Instruments introduced already in the year 1990 this powerful multi-language Translator with integrated Databank feature.
The internal memory stores about 3,000 words and 1,000 small sentences in 13 different categories:
• General Greetings |
Each word is available in six different languages: French, English, German, Italian, Spanish and Dutch. By simply choosing a word or sentence in one of the six languages the other five languages could be displayed.
The Translator also functions as a versatile Databank with 5k Byte of memory to hold up to 250 names, addresses and phone numbers. Other useful features include currency - metric converter and 10-digit calculator.
If you are not familiar with the Integrated Circuits found in the PS-5600 - the Sharp LH532 chip is a Mask-ROM with 256k Byte capacity and the Sharp LH5160 chip is a 8k Byte RAM.
The next three years brought us two additional Translators, the smaller PS-5400 and the powerful PS-5800.
