The TI-84 Plus Keypad is more than just a replacement of the
original TI-Nspire Keypad. It emulates the keystrokes and functionality of the
previous TI-83 Plus, TI-84 Plus and
TI-84 Plus Silver Edition graphing
calculators. This allows the use of the TI-Nspire on exams permitting just the
TI-83 Plus based calculators like SAT and ACT.
Within the Datamath Calculator
Museum the combination of the TI-Nspire with the TI-84 Plus Keypad is referred
as TI-Nspire KBD. To
reduce theft of school-owned TI-Nspire's a
"school bus yellow" edition
is available.
Texas Instruments achieved the 100% compatibility by storing even the well known TI-84 Applications into the operating system:
• Cabri® Jr.
• Inequality Graphing • Periodic Table • Probability Simulations • Science Tools • StudyCards™ • Transformation Graphing • CBL2™/CBR2™ • Vernier EasyData™ |
The TI-84 Plus Keypad supports with its integrated connector the TI-Navigator™ system, the TI Connect software and the 2nd-generation CBL 2™ (Calculator-Based Laboratory) and CBR 2™ (Calculator-Based Ranger).
As of March 2010 a total of four different keyboards are either available for the 2nd generation TI-Nspire or announced:
• TI-Nspire
Touchpad (The new alphanumeric keyboard of the 2nd
generation TI-Nspire
•
TI-Nspire Touchpad EZ-Spot (Black yellow color scheme)
• TI-84 Plus Keypad (The
black edition of the original keyboard of the TI-Nspire
• TI-84 Plus EZ-Spot Keypad (Added yellow "School
Property" logo)
Texas Instruments introduced already in 1976 an educational calculator with a total of six interchangeable keyboards! Don't miss the rare ABLE (ABstract Linking Electronically) limited function calculator.
Texas Instruments announced on March 8, 2010 the new TI-Nspire
Touchpad and Operating System 2.0. The new OS 2.0, including the TI-84 Plus
Silver Edition 2.54MP, was released for this TI-Nspire with Clickpad, too.
