The TI-5008 looks like the cheaper sibling of the TI-5000. Actually the design was changed to fit to the "office grey" color of other products.

The desktop line then covered 6 different calculators:

TI-5008    Pocket-sized, thermal printing
TI-5010    Small-sized, standard paper
TI-5032    Desktop-sized, battery option
TI-5130    10-digits, standard paper
TI-5142-III 12-digits, standard paper
TI-5020    Non-printing, solar powered

The same thermal printer was used on calculators like the rare TI-45 MSP.

In 1984 the design of the TI-5008 was slightly changed, compare it here.

The TI-5008 is featured in the Texas Instruments Incorporated leaflet CL-199M dated 1983.
