The
TI-501 introduced in 1999 morphed without any
changes in the 21th century into the TI-501SV. It
is still the synonym of a very cheap basic calculator. Selling price in
the year 2009 was about US$ 3. If you search a somewhat larger calculator you
would find it with the TI-503SV.
Dismantling
this TI-501SV manufactured in June 2009 by Kinpo Electronics, Inc. in China
reveals no surprises. The internal construction looks very familiar to us and
seems to be identical with the original TI-501 introduced 10 years earlier.
Don't miss the first TI-501
introduced already in 1982.
