Bold and lively colors, large keys, solar and lots of functionality - this is the marketing description of the TI-1105 introduced in 1987. This second generation of the TI-1105 added the [+/-] key known already from the TI-108.
Three different colors were introduced:
• TI-1105 Turquoise • TI-1105 Magenta • TI-1105 Dark Blue |
Dismantling
this second generation TI-1105 manufactured in February 1988 by Inventec Corporation in
Taiwan reveals a clean design centered around an unknown single-chip calculator
circuit soldered on a double-sided printed circuit board (PCB) and powered by
four solar cells.
Inspecting
the PCB of this TI-1105 calculator brought our attention to a small mark reading
IOTI108A-02A, obviously a reference to the second generation of
the TI-108 introduced in 1988, too. We started compiling a list of the
PCB-Marks on calculators manufactured by OEMs for Texas Instruments.
