(PCB) of the Speak & Spell Version 3 is significantly smaller than its predecessor.

The PCB of the Speak & Spell Version 3 is centered
around a TMC0271 Microcontroller, a TMC0281 Voice Synthesis Processor (VSP), a TMC0350/CD2350 Voice Synthesis Memory (VSM), and a small power supply and 8 character VF-Display. Please notice the extra space for a second VSM.
