This Dotto Conta-Parla was manufactured in March 1986 by
Texas Instruments in Rieti, Italy (Date code RCI 1186 » wk 11 yr 1986).
The Dotto Conta-Parla is powered by 4 AA-sized batteries.

 
The internal design of the Dotto Conta-Parla is much simpler than the original Speak & Spell Compact.
The  printed circuit board (PCB) of the Dotto Conta-Parla is centered around a TMS50C40/CM54122 Voice Synthesis Processor (VSP).
