This Texas Instruments TI-88 "PVT 1 (Production Validation Test 1) Build" was manufactured in May 1982 by
Texas Instruments in Abilene, TX (Date code ATA 2182 » wk 21 yr 1982).

The two module ports of the TI-88 accommodate either Solid State Software modules or Constant Memory Expansion Modules.

 
The printed circuit board (PCB) of the TI-88 is centered
around two 4-bit microcontroller, two RAM and one ROM chip, each.

The Constant Memory or CRAM-Module as user programmable memory with  either 1,184 program steps or 148 user memories.

The 11 contacts of the Constant Memory or CRAM-Module with Power Supply,
4 Data I/O-lines, 2 Chip Select signals, Clock and Serial I/O.

The CROM-Module as pre-programmed software like the earlier TI-58C/TI-59  Solid State Software™ modules with up to 15,000 program steps.

 

The 11 contacts of the Solid State Software or CROM-Module with Power Supply,
4 Data I/O-lines, 2 Chip Select signals, Clock and Serial I/O.
