This TI-55 III was manufactured by Inventec in Taiwan for the US market.	This TI-56 was manufactured by Compal in Taiwan for Europe.
Calculators manufactured by Inventec make use of a screw in the Battery compartment.	The sibling manufactured by Compal looks different inside the battery compartment.
The TI-55 III assembled by Inventec places both IC's on one side of the PCB.	The TI-56 assembled by Compal looks once again completely different.
