This calculator added solar cells to the TI-30-III and seems to be identical with the earlier TI-30 SOLAR.
Compared with other calculators the TI-30 Challenger was a more robust version. Both the fragile solar cells and LC-display were covered with an additional screen. Unfortunately it was removed with the next TI-30 Challenger.
With the TI-30Xa SE a "School Edition" was introduced in 1995 again.
