Following the path of the Slide Rule (SR) calculators like the wonderful SR-16 the Concept III was called Advanced Slide Rule.

Concept_III_1.jpg (99245 Byte)If you explore the calculator deeper (using the pictures on the right donated by Kirk B. Muri) you'll immediately catch the similarities to the SR-16 II. The only differences are the colouring schema of the faceplate and the size of the letters. The slightly oversized keyboard printing was continued later with the TI-1255.

Concept_III_PCB.jpg (164521 Byte)Even the inside view and a deeper look on the backside of the calculator gives us no additional differences to a common SR-16 II. The printed circuit board (PCB) is identical to a SR-16 II.

Concept_III_2.jpg (18005 Byte)The backside gives one surprise: A serial number with three leading zeroes! Let us assume that production numbers kept well beyond the marketing expections. Currently we know three Concept III:

0017847 wk 08 year 1976
0005066 wk xx year 1976
0002554 wk 10 year 1976

The Concept line covered three different models: The Concept I based on the TI-1200, the Concept II based on the TI-1250 and this Concept III as a sibbling of the SR-16 II.
