In most generations of TI calculators you will find a product optimized for financial/business calculations based on a scientific product. Compare for example the following product pairs:

SR-40 and Business Analyst
TI-50 and Business Analyst-II
TI-55-II and this BA-55

The BA-55 could be called a financial calculator with limited programmability, you can store up to 40 keystrokes in the memories. Important to mention a rather unusual feature of this calculator, you could use the serial printer PC-200 known from the TI-66 PROGRAMMABLE calculator.

The BA-55 was later replaced within the second generation of the slanted line with the BA-54.

The BA-55 Professional Business Analyst is featured in the Texas Instruments Incorporated leaflet CL-199M dated 1983.
