Canon combined with the LC Quartz a clock, an alarm and a stopwatch with versatile electronic calculator functions in a nice housing. 

Dismantling the LC- Quartz reveals a Toshiba T3566 circuit known already from the Toshiba LC-833WA and the related TI-1790 DataChron.
