This PS-4000 Pocket Speller was manufactured in July 1990 by 
Inventec Corporation in Taiwan (Date code I-0790 mth 07 yr 1990).

The standard hardware of the PS-4000 makes use of a 8-bit microprocessor based
on the Z80 family, a huge ROM, a small RAM and an integrated display driver. 

The Toshiba T9989A Application Specific CPU
with its Z80 compatible core.

The Program/Word memory of the PS-3000
with 512k Bytes capacity.

 

The PS-4000 makes use of one Data memory
chip with 2k Bytes capacity. 

The display driver of  the PS-4000 hides
its specification.
