The
only difference between the original TI-2550 and this later model is the LED
(Light Emitting Diodes) display. The original design used the Opto-stick display
manufactured by Bowmar, the later models carried a Texas Instruments LED-stick
with magnifier lenses.
The
electronics of the TI-2550 is centered around a Texas Instruments TMS0601
single-chip calculator circuit.
